Now for the fragrance it’s a girly perfumey smell that reminds me of the holidays, but it smells really seductive and creamy/juicy in the heat of summer as well like fresh picked berries and soda.Top notes are Champagne, Carambola (Star Fruit) and Quince; middle notes are Peony and Freesia; base notes are Sugar, Almond Cream, Amber, Sandalwood and Musk.
well when i smelled it the first time i had to check the bottle again cause i was sure i smelled this before. It's very luxurious, quite like a glass of champagne- I do detect a hint of it in this scent, but not in a bitter, alcohol way, it's very light and subtle. I haven't got the chance to ask my male friends but I think it's a mass pleaser unless you don't like sweet scents. I wrote a review on this few years back when it first came out and at the time I had rather lukewarm feelings on it.I have this scent in the mist and it smells like a peppery champagne with hints of freesia and vague, nondescript fruits. A Thousand Wishes, for me, has replaced Forever Red and my Fall excitement scent because it goes beyond the candelit coziness and leaves openings for adventures. A fragrance for any kind of celebration (hence the name and packaging that looks like a birthday cake). This is kind of a vague, inoffensive warm and sparkling/slightly citrusy and floral smell all at the same time. It's almost like a lighter, raspberry version of LBPD but with much less patchouli and much less powder than LBPD.
I would say that if you love peony and citrus (it smells citrusy to me) but also warm and sugary without being overpowering, this would be something you'd like.You can pretty much wear it any time of the year, but since it’s part of a holiday collection, it’s a pretty festive scent.
I’m so happy because that’s the scent I wanted from Always Red and A Thousand Wishes delivered on it! Reading that sentence back, it doesn't sound nice to me at all, but it is, in fact, an amazing scent. I used to wear pure patchouli oil for a short period of my life and then I started to become annoyed by the hypocritical habits of hipsters I was around who wore too much patchouli so now I associate patchouli oil with those negative feelings and typical shove any scent with patchouli to the side. It smells different (less sweet, boozier, a bit darker) from the old perfume version with the cubic lid.
