By using Sterling as their distributor, Armaf is able to produce their perfume in France, and thus, ship them around the world. Armaf History EDT is fresh with a dry birch wood note, which here is much less smoky, and more of the actual dry wood (it does get smokier for me later). Beyond that, in the beginning you get some musk and a slight appearance from the floral notes. The fragrance starts out with a strong and overpowering lemon scent that doesn’t remind me of household cleaning products some may say, and it is pleasing almost from the start. I have to say that by far, I’m yet to encounter worse quality control by a perfume brand, and I’m not the only one who has noticed this.

How about the compliments? I thought that it was a joke when my brother told me that he got at least a couple of positive unsolicited compliments from colleagues and random people on the street.That, and the fact that the company is most famous for being completely and 100% a clone brand, for better or for worse. This highly versatile fragrance will outperform many of the more expensive warm-weather counterparts, and I would recommend it as your main summer perfume no matter which part of the world you live in. The fragrance performs like a beast, and don’t get confused if you get nose blind to it due to the high dose of ambroxan inside it. Others will smell you even after 10 hours after you have sprayed it.

Creed Aventus – is a fruity musk perfume released in 2010. The main notes include Pineapple, Musk, and Birch. The lasting power is 6 – 8 hours with moderate projection.The fragrance may be composed completely of affordable aroma chemicals, but it is so good for this price that you can’t ignore it. The hype is real. Armaf knows what they are doing and they know how to create a fantastic composition and they have proven their worth by being a respectable alternative to Aventus, Millesime Imperial, Silver Mountain Water, and Noir de Noir by Tom Ford. I think the day is coming when Armaf will take the Creed and Tom Ford fragrance range and turn it on its head as they consume the market, replicating icons down to a Tee where not even a honed nose can differentiate between the original, because Sillage smells better as Silver Mountain Water as a 2019 Bottle of Creed Silver Mountain Water, but that is where I get concerned... that's what bothers me. You see, I do not want to see these brands go but nor do I really want everyone to smell like it either because there's a pleasure in standing out amongst the crowd which was usually where these Luxury/Niche fragrances reigned supreme so having something so similar so accessible is going to make these fragrances, or at least the prestige of them, completely redundant. So, no matter which perfumes you use from Sterling, always wipe the excess liquid which a clean cloth left after spraying the perfume to postpone the bottle deterioration as long as possible. To me, the EDP comes across as being a bit smoother. Less of the lemon note, but with a more pronounced apple, which I enjoy. Also, the birch here is smokier early on and does give it that leathery aroma to a greater extent. Which opening is better? I prefer the EDP, as the citrus isn’t as screechy, and it seems somewhat more balanced.

Today I want to discuss a clone, but as you will get from this, I will now, and forever more, consider it an alterative and I want to raise some my concerns for the fragrance industry. Armaf, with their Club De Nuit range (no, not you Urban, go sit in the corner) are game changers for reasons I will get into. Is the Eau de Parfum stronger with its higher fragrance concentration? I’m not so sure that it actually is. The sillage for both is very good. You get a very good scent trail coming off of the skin for hours on end, before it settles into something more intimate. Chances are that you are a big fan of Creed Aventus who cannot stand the fact perfume clones exist, yet you still want to hear if Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man is that good. As for Armaf, finding online sources about the company’s history has been quite challenging, and maybe a sign why some perfume aficionados avoid the brand itself.I will say, the performance and how the notes come across, is better when it’s a bit chilly outside. I wouldn’t wear either in the high heat, but the cold is even better than what you get when it’s just kind of moderate outside.
